Novocain - David Stout Band

Our challenge: Tell a beautiful story of how people abuse drugs and alcohol to make themselves feel numb; because it hurts to be alive.

Novocain is a time-based work of art that mimics the revelation of the teller while sharing the story to the viewer. The beauty of the dance element is in tension with the distortion and ultimate surrender to the temporary euphoria of drug addiction.

The band leader had a very close family member struggle with drug addiction and realized people do not do drugs because they want to feel good but rather to feel nothing. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
